To me The Dark Knight Rises is the most phenomenal movie of the 21st century. It might not be the best movie of all time and definitely won’t be highest grossing revenue movie. In fact it’s going to be the opposite.
Hollywood are “in a way” pissed at the colorado shooting which some people could say indirectly caused by the existence of Batman franchise. They are all pissed because it causes the domestic grossing to slow down, which was considered to be not as good as it used to be pre-economy crisis in the US.
Despite the colorado shooting, critics and reviewers are hesitant to tell the truth about their review to Dark knight Rises. Some critics got death letters and some got “egged” in their house for giving a rating “B” or even “C”.
In this case, WB could consider to have no Batman movie for a while, maybe for a decade. If they would made a Batman movie it would never be like Nolan’s. A Justice League Batman could be made. But it won’t be as dark. As close as it can get it’s going to be Batman with fantasy characters like clay face, poison ivy, or Mr. Freeze.
